HAPPY 2011. Where did 2010 go?
This is going to be an excellent year. Why? you may ask. Well…
I’ll be in London at the end of April to visit the Banksons!
My roommate Cat is getting married at the end of May. woooo!
Little baby Komae comes around that time as well :)
Summer #2 of working at Forest Home Ojai Valley!
and much much more.
Here are some pics..to explain how i’m feeling todayyyyy!

Christmas came early for the Komae side of the family this year.
We had our far share of entertainment, aka 5 great grandchildren to play with.
We spent our time eating really delicious food made by Auntie Steph, laughing our butts off playing telephone pictionary, chasing the little ones around, exchanging gifts, staying out of the pouring rain, and soaking in allllllll the blessings. :)

G&G + grandkids + great-grandkids

The Kent Komae clan.

these two amaze me. They’re still thriving at their old age, and I think it’s fair to say it’s because of their love for their Father above, their love for each other, and their constant love for all of us.
What a great Christmas !

I once heard the quote - “Dream so big, only God can handle it”
I’m not sure who first said this, but I have BIG DREAMS, and even better - I have a BIG GOD.
last night, we had the most brilliant idea.
We had already planned on having a cookie/icecream birthday paaartay for Cat and I, since we’re December babies, but something was missing. We were chillin in our apt doing hw before people came, and thought…”let’s have a photoboot.”genius. Lucky for us, props were not hard to come by. I pulled out the black wig I had from camp, rainbow tutu, Laker jersey, 3489483 scarves, picture frame, sunglasses, Laker finger, etc. and viola! enjoy.

Lucky for us, Abbie had this nice sheet to use as a backdrop. It was hard to find a spot with good lighting, but we did the best that we could.

So i’ve realized, some of the best times are when you pull random thing, people, props, frames, wigs, and memories together to make one fantabulous whacked out adventure. Happy Friday!
12/8/10. Wednesday
Sissy just told me some GOOD GOOD GLORIOUS GOOD news….

YUP. you guessed it - HILLSONG UNITED 2011 AFTERMATH TOUR TICKETS!!!!!!!

I’ve always dreamed of going to a Hillsong concert, and lookie here..it’s actually happening! It truly amazing to think about the impact Hillsong Church has around the WORLD and I can’t wait to be a part of worshiping our SAVIOR with thousand and thousands of people!
P.S I’m currently reading through the entire C.S Lewis series and stumbled upon this quote..it gave me chills…
“Safe? Who said anything about safe? Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.” - The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe.

In October, I began reading the Bible - straight through.
It all began after Francis Chan spoke in chapel one day. It was a seemingly ordinary day, but he rocked my mind. He asked us how radical our lives look, and if we were really taking this all seriously. He asked us if we were to place our lives smack dab in the middle of the Bible, would it fit? Would our lives refect the miracles and the faith of the people the walked and talked with Jesus? Because isn’t that what we are doing, walking and talking with our Lord Jesus?
I sat in class that day, and I couldnt listen. I couldnt hear what my professor was saying, becase all that was in my head was - would it fit? does my life fit in the Bible?
So then I thought, If its gunna fit in the Bible, its gotta KNOW the Bible. So there I began, reading. Why I’m writing this post is because…drum roll…I have reached the New Testament! The old Testament was a whirlwind of stories, triumph, wisdom, prayers, travels, little faith, big faith, and an ever-present, creator God. It was incredibly humbling reading through books I skipped over in the past, labeling them “boring” and “not helpful”. My brain and heart were stretched and here I am a few months later, reading through the story of the birth of Jesus and his life on earth.
The crazy thing is, is that I planned my reading out, knowing that was the only way i’d stick to it. Without knowing it I wrote out all the dates and reading and it turns out I end my reading on CHRISTMAS EVE. What a gift from God :) To wake up Christmas day and have read his work throughout.
What makes me most excited it that when I finish reading the Bible, I’m going to go back and take my time focusing on a book at a time. Can’t wait for what God has to say to me!
It’s officially my last year as a teen.
Today in the mail I recieved a large package from my mom, which turned out to be a huge cookie cake from Mrs. Fields cookies :) !!!! So, this is a thank you to YOU mom for the cookie cake that I’ll probably be sharing with my art class later today. But mom, what I really want to say thank you for…is for bringing me into this world! I once heard someone say that on your birthday people should be celebrating your mom, not you.
So cheers to you mom, for giving me life and cookie cake.

and cheers to you dad, for supporting mom through all the crazyness that comes along with raising 4 kids. I’d say we all turned out pretty well, right!?
